Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em… Time for a modern take?
Michael Crawford classic Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em… was a work of genius in its day, and yet no one seems to look to it for inspiration in modern comedy.
(Lee Evans had a series - So What Now? - a few years back in which his character wound up in bizarre, dangerous situations, and of course there’s Mr Bean, but I digress.)
The “unemployable cack-hand somehow getting job after job only to screw it up in mind-blowingly hilarious manner” concept is one that has been terribly underused on television since Frank Spencer blew up the wrong cooling tower.
Thankfully, there is Jeb’s Jobs, a web-based animation featuring the slightly phallic (or is it a worm?) Jeb and his various failed jobs. You can watch Jeb’s adventures here – Technical Support is a particular favourite…
