Stanley Baxter Returns!

So formulating an interesting post about Have I Got News For You, I was blown away to discover that TV favourite Stanley Baxter is making a return to television for a one-off Christmas special.

John Kaye Cooper of ITV has commissioned the show:

“For over two decades Stanley’s award-winning shows were pure comedy gold, and we are thrilled he has agreed to return to our screens for this rare treat.”

The impressionist starred in The Stanley Baxter Show for eight years on BBC One between 1963 and 1971, while he was on ITV with his Picture Show from 1972 to 1975.

This truly is a treat of the Two Ronnies Sketchbook kind, with Baxter a pioneer of the movie/pop culture comedy spoof on television.
