Stephen K Amos has his own new sketch show
“Obviously I’m thrilled – although now my mum will find out I’m a stand-up comedian. She thinks I drive a minicab.”
Not before time, a black comic has got a show on the BBC - and he’s not Lenny Henry!
Stephen K Amos has been a regular on various panel shows (particularly Have I Got News For You) over recent years and under the working title of The Stephen K Amos Show he will introduce numerous new comic characters from “Frank”, the fashion conscious security guard at the BBBC reception, to “Paul Hammer”, the stuntman who doubles for white actors.
All characters are played by Stephen, including his mother, “Buki”, who Stephen makes phone calls to during the show. Each week, Stephen will be joined by a number of celebrity guests such as Robbie Williams, Matt Lucas and David Walliams, who starred in the pilot.
Due to go into productionearly 2010, I think it’s fair to say this will be something to keep an eye out for…
